Web Design Portfolio
We are pleased to present some of our recent work for your review.
Situation: The Village of Buchanan, a small village in a picturesque setting on the Hudson River had an obsolete website with very little graphic appeal and outdated information. Due to the budget constraints of a small municipality, Buchanan could not afford development of a CMS but wanted an effective and attractive website which would be easy to keep up-to-date. They also wanted features like a photo gallery and calendars. Solution: We worked with the village trustees to plan and design a new website, using images provided by the village and including the information needed by residents. The site features a photo gallery, calendar, contact information, forms and other useful information. Taconic Marketing provides monthly updates to time sensitive information, obviating the need for village personnel to update the site. |

Situation: Fieldhome is a center for rehabilitation, skilled nursing, luxury assisted living, memory support and child care. Their website, which had won awards for graphic design, was obsolete and difficult to update. In addition, the range of services provided had expanded, requiring the addition of another section to the site. Solution: Working with graphic elements of the original layout, we carefully reconstructed the site to accommodate the expansion while maintaining the lovely original design. We also added design elements, including improved navigation graphics, to make the site easier to use. |

Situation: What could be more impressive than beautiful gardens? With PerenniaLandscaping the challenge was to "frame" the client's excellent photographs of stunning gardens and present adequate information for consumers about the services and benefits of working with Perennia. Solution: The gardens are the star of the show. Every page features a large photograph. Sidebars are used when appropriate to provide additional information. The design relies heavily on earth tones which provide a neutral background for the images. An extensive portfolio comprises photo galleries of different gardens categorized by types of plantings and purposes of gardens. Other Services: As part of this project we designed a new logo for PerenniaLandscaping and provided vector artwork which can be used in print and for signs. |

Situation: Our client, Yorkville Sports Association, had several problems with a CMS website originally designed in 2000. Among the issues were poor search engine placement, largely attributable to "unfriendly" URLs, inflexibility in design and the difficulty of introducing new products quickly. However, the site, written in PHP, also included management functionality essential to the business. The challenge was to separate the presentation layer from the functionality while preserving all business processes and data. Solution: The first step was to replace the outmoded CMS interface with new html based pages. Since the client's office staff did not update the site, the CMS functionality was not needed. The html pages provided design flexibility, search engine accessibility and other features. Working with an experienced PHP programmer, we then linked the essential functionality back to the interface. The transition was accomplished over a weekend to minimize interference with peak site usage which occurs during business days. |
